Extreme Halloween Network Spreads Goodwill and Charity by Donating a Portion of their Sales this Holiday Season

Dania Beach, FL (PRWEB) November 21, 2007 -- In a gesture of goodwill and charity, the Extreme Halloween network will be donating a portion of its sales of unique kids costumes, Santa Claus costumes and other dress up items and accessories (http://www.extremehalloween.com/cybermondaycostumesale.htm) from any of their 11 websites to the Daily Bread Food Bank.

A portion of any sale made over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend (Nov 23-26, 2007) will go to feed needy people in South Florida. The Daily Bread Food Bank (http://www.dailybread.org/) is a goodwill charity that provides food and other grocery products to people in need and helps educate and engage the community to help fight hunger and poverty. The main goal of the charity is to reduce hunger by reducing waste. More then 20 percent of all food produced in the United States goes to waste.

"It's important to everyone at Extreme Halloween to give to those less fortunate," said Shari McConahay, marketing director of the Extreme Halloween network. "We hope when customers are thinking about purchasing their unique kid costumes, Santa Claus costumes (http://www.santasuits.com/) and other holiday dress-up items they'll think of visiting Extreme Halloween, knowing that a percentage of their purchase will go to such a good cause."

Extreme Halloween is no stranger to goodwill and charity. Last month as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, they raised more than $1,500 for Susan G Komen Foundation with their "Think Pink" costume promotion, and their goal is to meet or beat that amount during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend.

So, McConahay adds, "When buying holiday gifts -- from unique kids costumes to Santa Claus costumes - visit http://www.extremehalloween.com and help give something back to those in need."

The Historical Origins of Halloween Costumes

Halloween costumes have a long, somewhat dark history that we've thrown out in the spirit of treat-or-treating cheer, and some Christians refuse to celebrate it because of its pagan origins. So what are the true origins of Halloween costumes, what is Samhain, and how did this tradition develop into what it is today?
